Mojo

The Dodgers seemed to have lost their mojo in that bad game that Broxton lost with the help of Nomar. Well, they found it again, proving they can still come back to win with a game winning homer punched out by the big red machine decked out in white and blue.

So I think any thoughts of the loss to the padres being some kind of season dooming-pre-determining event can now be safely tossed out the window (yeah I know this sentence is bad on so many levels, but I like it like this).

I just have to comment on Dustin McGowan for anyone that didn't see the game at all. His stuff was hot. It wasn't just Dodger futility that explained the low score for his innings. He threw hard and his breaking pitches were down and dirty. His stuff was better than his MLB '07 the show's video game counterpart.

Brad Penny was no slouch either. He looked sick out there, despite actually being sick. His personal appearance also kind of gave it away. He looked as if he had not showered in a few days. You could especially tell in the post game interview that Penny wasn't feeling well by the way he kind of moaned & whined the answers back to the reporter. Broxton brushed any dirt off his shoulders from his last outing and it was beautiful business as usual for the big guy.

I am really late on this but Matt Kemp was called up while Ramon Martinez was put on the DL. This move makes me excited. Don't quite know how this will effect the outfield rotation: Will it mean less at-bats for Juan Pierre? Luis Gonzales' recent production probably doesn't mean more rest days for him (except maybe against a few lefties). Ethier getting more bench time again? This really sucks but probably. I'm going to venture another platoon for Ethier despite the fact that he seems to hit lefties pretty darn well whenever he gets the chance or gets the call off the bench.

Oh, I predict the Dodgers win behind Lowe. He seems to smell post-season and has been pitching especially well of latte. MMMM...latte.

Gotta go, office space is starting...
