I have no choice but to link to the East-Coast Sports Preferenced Network that Dusty Baker will be the new manager of the Reds. Why should you click the "Read More!" link? Hell if I know, Well, if you're still reading it's probably because you are extremely curious. I'm happy about this hiring because the chances the dodgers are able to trade Juan Pierre just went up a little. And any little bit that number goes up is good. Pierre is a Dusty Baker type of a player. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if Pierre were genetically related to Neifi Perez, whom Baker had a huge crush on in Chicago despite arguably being the worst player in the league.
In other news, I got to see only part of the Sox game last night. It was the good part where Carmona walked in Coco Crisp by issuing a pass to Manny. I remember thinking the way Julio Lugo almost rubbed or softly patted Crisp's do-ragged head was kind of odd, then I buried the thought until just 20 seconds or so ago. I also watched J.D. Drew kill the rally as only he can with a soft chopper or grounder down the right side of the infield. Oh yeah, we tuned back in to hear the fox announcers actually getting it right in stating that Francona had left Schilling in too long (fifth inning?). I figured the Indians would score a couple of runs but the Sox would win the game anyways. I had to turn off the game completely when my better half hint-sisted that we watch "Knocked Up". Woke up this morning and found out that wasn't the case. Sorry, Sox nation. I'm still rooting for you. Maybe the sox would have won had they played Ellsbury over J.D. Blew.
