I've been writing that dodgers GM Ned Colletti has been saying all the right things for a week or two. There's another new example of this in regards to the bullpen on the official dodgers website here. Near the bottom Colletti makes a new statement to the effect that he's not going to be spending tons of money on veteran bullpen arms.
This can't be the real Ned Colletti. Aliens must have abducted him and replaced him with a modified clone remotely controlled so that the dodgers don't go down in flames, because you know those little grey guys like to watch baseball too. Well, thank you aliens (or our brothers from another solar mother) from God-knows-where from saving the dodgers from themselves for our viewing enjoyment. This new Ned guy keeps raising his game with his new philosophy on improving the roster.
Boo to those that jumped to criticize every move and didn't give him a a few years chance to acclimate himself to being head honcho...Oops, yeah, that Juan Pierre guy. Big mistake? Yeah, I guess you're right. O.K., I'll shut up for now and stay tuned on what happens with him.
But thank goodness that there won't be a new round of stopgaps for the rotation and bullpen to block the young arms that are just about to percolate to the top.
