That Win I was Wishing for Comes One Day Later

Well, it would have been better if the blowout would have come at Peavy's expense, but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth, or at his thighs.  The newest incarnation of the dodgers proved to themselves they could all kind of hit at the same time in an 11-1 victory over the Padres.  The 11 runs represents probably about 5-6 starts worth of Lowe's usual run support.  Other highlights include my father in law's doppelganger making a great barehanded field and throw on a grounder.  He looks less like my father in law now that he's cut off the facial hair, but when he concentrates he still has that slight scowl that represents the usual facial expression of my father-in-law.  Also Hu, another young dodger I'm rooting for keeps managing to do well with the time that is given him.  If the dodgers build on the momentum of this win, then Joe Torre won't feel the need to keep trying to play Pierre over Kemp to get something started (Kemp homered last night!).

Oh, and last night I watched the San Diego feed of the Pads/Dodgers game and I have to say Matt Vasgersian is a homer-ish ninny.  I never listen to him at Petco except for over the PA system in the concourse on the way to our seats.  I do hear his voice on the MLB The Show video games which he isn't annoying because he's stealing mostly all of Vin Scully's lines.  From admonishing dodger fans for having a young child in box seats, to how Derek Lowe didn't really want to be a dodger, to Blake DeWitt being obviously overmatched by Chris Young, just before he crushed a ball down the line for a 2 rbi double.  So Matt, here's hoping a job in Los Angeles never opens up for you.
