I could have never guessed tonight's game would have played out like this at all. Both starters pitched horribly. O.K. that part is totally plausible. The part where Blake DeWitt aka my father in law's illegitimate stepchild hits a two run inside the park home run to give the dodgers the 5-4 lead they would hold onto for the rest of the game thanks to great pitching by Kuo, with 8 strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings of relief, and nothing given up by Broxton or Saito. That was one of the most thoroughly entertaining games I've seen in a while. As soon as DeWitt crossed the plate I thought of how pissed off I was when Jose Reyes' grimacing smile trotted off to the dugout after getting an inside the parker off of Brad Penny a few years back and how this was ample payback for that day. Maybe Kuo's performance gets him another look see in the rotation. Maybe DeWitt's great play (except for that horrid 2 error inning a few days ago) means he'll have to play his way back to Vegas instead of just being sent there as soon as LaRoche is ready, contrary to my previous post. Never can tell what's going to happen in baseball, and I wouldn't have it any other way, except for when it goes badly against the dodgers. Hopefully the winning bug stays with the dodgers, because they've got an extremely good case of it.And here is the rest of it.
