Boston Herald Can't Resist a Parting Shot At Manny (kinda ranty)

This article stings, like Bilbo Baggins' elven shortsword. What I think is a bit b.s. about it is if Manny was such a bad guy, why didn't the Herald call him out as a terrible person like this long ago (they did n small doses, with far more praise for him--especially when the team was WINNING in the postseason!), while scolding the team for having spoiled him so much? Because he was a red sock. When you're an adopted new englander, the people accept you, warts and all. Now that he's not, all bets are off. The Sox kept Manny. The only reason Manny is on a plane to the west coast is because after the red sox front office doing the math, he finally became more trouble than the remaining $7 million left on his contract was worth. They let Roger walk as soon as they figured he was in enough decline not to be worth his fat contract. The sox made sure a few unflattering tidbits made it to the press on his way out. The sox sure showed Roger back then, right? It will also be something when Roger goes into the hall with a Yankees cap on. The media had turned on Roger while being kicked out of Boston just like they are now with Manny after years of him repeatedly begging to be dealt. As bad of a man the Herald may think he is right now, they sure will give it to Manny again when he tries to enter the hall without a red sox cap on. If he's such a bad guy, remember to write an article applauding him for choosing not to disgrace Boston fans to go into the hall with their organization's cap on when he goes in with that Cleveland cap on over his dreads.
Just for the record, I agree that Manny's not a nice guy, but this article is hypocritical holier-than-thou to the next level. The Boston Herald never misses an opportunity to eat its own young. I mean, what did they learn from the other a-hole, Roger Clemens?
