The light at the end of the tunnel is just about blinding me as the dodgers cut their magic number to 1 with 4 games left on the schedule for the blue and the 'backs. Arizona would have to win every single one of their games. Boston has already clinched their wild card spot. But us west coasters don't get the luxury of annually contending sports teams.

Thank goodness for Manny. I realized after his homer last night that I was spoiled since I was expecting him to drive in runs when the dodgers were down by two runs. This was something unbelievable to think of before the trade. Once the dodgers were down, the remaining innings were just watching futilely play out the rest of the game. Pitching well. Fielding well. Making outs well.

Even if the dodgers get swept in the first round I'll still remember the season as one which went from nail biting, frustrating baseball to moderately fun to watch baseball (post 7-8 game losing streak that almost broke me).
