Pitching Left The Stadium

I didn't watch the whole game it was so bad. The dodgers scored that run in the first and I thought things were going to be o.k. Boy was I wrong. Phillies relatives' are dying and the dodgers can't beat them (that's a knock on the dodgers and not any kind of statement to take anything away from or disparage the phils). Charlie Manuel, a former dodger, had his mom pass (when I read that a day or two ago i thought 'geez his mom is still alive? Manuel looks like a dinosaur himself) away just a few days ago and now they let Shane Victorino know his grandmother died after the game and he's all gung-ho that he'll keep focused on baseball and stay with the team. The dodgers really seem overmatched right now, but this is just a replay of the regular season against them. That's the only consolation I can really get out of this is that the dodgers kill them in L.A. The dodgers put a good bit of runs up on the board, so they didn't just pack it in. The dodgers can't just win in L.A. to pull this series out, though. They've got to be able to win in Philadelphia, and I'm pretty skeptical (more stuff about the red sox later)now that it will happen.

I'm so mad I bet on the dodgers hehe.

I watched that play in the sox rays game where Crawford didn't quite get that line drive hit at him that scored a run and left a guy at third ready to get knocked in. I felt pretty sure after that play the sox had that game wrapped up. It just looked like such a key event, and if I were on the rays, pretty demoralizing. Apparently, I did see the last scoring in the game there. I didn't figure that would be the case. Apparently the rays kept trying to knock at the door but Dice-Man kept them from opening it completely. I should've watched the entire game.

Speaking of watching the entire game, I'm writing this in the middle of the 11th inning of an 8-8 game that started at 8:08 ET. It's now 1:24 ET. So tired. When will Timlin come in an end this?

I guess I have my answer.

Wow, Timlin sucks. Beckett, too.

that and the game puck and i watched sunday night reacquaints me with why there was a huge push to quicken up the game.

It took over an hour to get to the second inning last night.

and here we are, typing about how we want less baseball...or at least earlier starting baseball. I'm down with eating dinner at 6 ish with the game on! 8 pm is just too late to start a game in October in new england. Hella cold.

o.k. nevermind...the games at fenway will be at a semi reasonable hour. I guess they figured in tb that it's not a big deal because it's warm. Still too late to watch on the east coast for most people. Probably a programming schedule thing or trying to make sure both coasts can all watch it for ratings revenue.

All I saw of that game you're talking about is the press conference with Upton and I forget the guy who was at the left, I believe it was Baldelli... I remember Upton was saying he never changed his approach when asked what he attributed his good game to.
