Dodgers Squeak By Cubs 2 to 1

A great game to watch despite the anticlimactic ending. Ramon Martinez had the key play of taking third after he stumbled and lost his balance 4-6 steps away from the second base bag. Luckily the pitcher threw behind him and the throw to third wasn't in time.
Pierre got the game winning r.b.i. on a questionable hit by pitch call. Even if the ump missed the call the blue crew most likely would have at least gotten the game winning run in on a sac fly anyway. Hopefully Ethier's homer today may earns him some more playing time at the expense of Gonzo.

I am starting to look through some of my card collection gaining dust in a closet and try to incorporate that into this blog somehow. Most people I have cards for are out of baseball except for very old players ('91 or '92) is the latest I have. We'll see what happens once some card(s) inspire me to post about them. I will stay away from doing player profiles because someone else has already done that beautifully (start blogging again).

I'd like to bring to your attention, and to that of your readers, this week's cover story in the L.A. Weekly on the super agent Scott Boras, who says some choice things about the Dodgers (among other teams). It's a full-length profile pondering the positives and negatives Boras brings to the game, and features an incisive, straightforward interview with Ned Colletti. And if you're wondering who is the most powerful guy in Dodger Stadium when Boras is in attendance, read on. There's also a separate piece, a love letter to the Dodgers . links follow:

I'd like to thank you for the comments and directing me to that article. I enjoyed the article despite having a huge headache.

I might right a post about it once the whole 6 page package has had enough time to simmer in my brain.
