What's Wrong With the Cubs?

It seems like having so many superstars like Derek Lee, Aramis Ramirez, Alfonso Soriano, and Carlos Zambrano winning wouldn't be a problem, but somehow the Cubs seem to shoot themselves in the foot. How come they couldn't win in the playoffs? I would be super stoked if my team had these type of players at so many positions going into the playoffs, and they immediately get swept.

What compounds what I'm assuming is considerable frustration and anger by Cubs fans at their team is the calibre of team that made their cubs seem like an undeserving team that merely sneaked into the playoffs. The diamondbacks have a lineup that doesn't exactly instill fear in opposing team's pitchers, and either overachieved or improved through experience as most of their players were young. The cubs have the names, but they choked. What gives?

Luck. Arizona greatly overachieved this season. They are at or near the bottom of most offensive categories as a team except homers (9'th) and triples (2'nd). They even gave up more runs than they scored this year. I could say that Arizona's pitching was good, but the cubs pitching was probably still better. Arizona has Brandon Webb, but the cubs had Zambrano (who started out kinda sucky but ended up being the same old reliable ace after the rough start).

If there's any similarity between dodger and cubs fans this season it is probably the contempt of their own team only outdone by their contempt of the dumb luck of the diamondbacks. There's nothing wrong with the cubs, but there's gotta be something wrong with the snakes playing so well this season and especially right now.
