Tony Jackson over at the LA Daily News reports that Takashi Saito has signed a one year two million dollar contract with some incentives. I'm glad. Not much analysis needed here. He's a very important part of the team and has been lights out for two years and going.
Oh and by the way Roger Cossack is still too stubborn to concede that his initial analysis was just not well thought out.
I'm really happy about Saito being signed with no back and forth like last year. Can't really argue when the team's first offer is doubling your salary. Well, yeah you can when you look at what similar closers make, but Saito realizes the leverage the team has and his only alternative is retirement or maybe Japan.
Now how about trading away Juan Pierre?
my lineup now that the roster is taking more shape
Furcal ss
Martin c
Loney 1B

Kemp rf
Kent 2b
Ethier lf
LaRoche 3b
I would probably switch Kent with Kemp against lefties.
