- I was wrong about Kuo making the starting rotation as the LA times blog reports Torre announced Loaiza will be the fifth starter. We'll see how long that lasts. He's probably this year's version of Bret Tomko.
- All those rumors swirling around Chad Billingsley are apparently false as he had a strong outing against the Red Sox.
- Marcus Giles was released, but still no word on him signing with the dodgers who have a gimpy Jeff Kent and numerous injuries to their infielders. In this case no news is good news. I believe Ned is just going with what they have (kids) without stop gapping for the first time in three years? This non-move could be the start of the youth move in overdrive. It makes me muy excited. The other move that makes me excited and fits with the youth move in overdrive is the fact that Blake DeWitt is getting such a long look at third base instead of them having gone outside the organization, as they easily could have. If the dodgers have so much depth in the farm system, they have to eventually go with it as the oldest kids are hitting 23 or so. Can't keep them in double and triple A forever...
