Hu's on Third?

With more and more guys starting the season on the DL, I'll wonder about who gets to make the team that weren't going to make it.  First the DL guys:
Jason Schmidt LaRoche Nomar maybe.
Now it seems the dodgers have to keep Loaiza instead of moving him for budget relief.  Abreu and maybe Hu both make the team depending on how injured Nomar and Kent are.  The dodgers are more seriously considering Kershaw, which might mean they still want to move Loaiza badly despite Schmidt's injury.  Guess the situation now with the injuries depends on how lucky Colletti feels.  Schmidt's injury and the apparent willingness to still move Loaiza improves Kuo's chance to become the team's fifth starter and sole lefty in the rotation.  Tons of possibilities here.  I think the dodgers are extremely versatile despite the myriad of injuries.

I think the power the dodgers already possess in the bats of Kemp, Loney, Jones, Ethier, and Kent make the decision to go with Abreu and ignoring a trade for Crede or Inge okay.  The lineup is strong enough in terms of power that playing Hu and Abreu at third until LaRoche can come back is acceptable. No biggie.  The sky isn't falling and the dodgers were going to bat LaRoche 7'th or 8'th anyways.  I'm just hoping that this injury hasn't derailed LaRoche's development.  So just like last year, expect to see a bunch of young guys manning third base with sometimes mixed results.  Hopefully we don't have to see Shae Hillenbrand at third base in 2008.
