The dodgers' official website posted that veteran reliever Rudy Seanez (one of the most aggravating Matt Vasgersian pronunciations See-Ah-Nyez instead of See-uh-nez) has been released. I can't cheer or pan the move because I don't know exactly why they did it. Hopefully the reason is some other pitcher impressed Torre & company enough to feel they could just let Seanez go despite his pretty decent performance last year.
I never really liked the guy. I didn't like him because it seemed he put too much pressure on himself on the mound. I think his first few appearances where he gave up a lead and was cursing to himself on the mound all red-faced is what kinda started Rudy and I on the wrong foot. There certainly were worse middle relievers on the dodgers that made me fear for the team's lead as they walked up to the mound (Roberto Hernandez), but I was never too confident that there wouldn't be an implosion when he was up there.
Tony Jackson over at his inside the dodgers blog
reports that the team will carry Chan-Ho Park. Gotta guess he's going to be the Elmer Dessesn type of swingman. I wonder how long that experiment will last. If his back is okay, he could be decent. Not holding my breath on that...
