Last Night's Loss and Random Stuff

It was pretty hard watching last night's game once Proctor came in and pitched like Greg Miller. I was feeling some strange pride when Park came in and started off pitching well. I was surprised he got it up there to 95 on his fastball. Nostalgia I guess on the pride feeling. The dodgers finally got around to dumping Eric Hull per the mlb redsox page.

Ho-hum type of a move. It's good Hull will get a chance to pitch at the MLB level before he gets too old to be taken seriously. While he may not have a long career, I'm hoping he at least gets a magic type of a moment to be able to tell his children.

Hu is doing well with the playing time he has gotten. Furcal is playing like a bunch of illegal fireworks so I'm not sure my whole dream of Furcal leaving as a free agent and Hu taking over at shortstop are gaining at all in probability. There's still second base, and Delwyn Young isn't getting any better as an infielder, although he's practicing his catching. That ought to make him a little like Derrel Thomas who played emergency catcher for 5 games with the dodgers in the 80's. Even if it never catches on with him, at least it shows he's willing to put in work to become better.

This whole Juan Pierre thing is getting to be a little too much. My guess is that Torre knows who the best player is, but is giving Pierre playing time to try to help the dodgers chances of not having to pay so much to move him out. I guess he's being showcased. Torre stated in an interview it's to get Kemp to calm down and not press too hard, but the same could be said of Pierre, Martin, and Andruw Jones. Pierre doesn't like the situation, the organization doesn't like the situation, it's like a messy divorce. Both parties are trying their best to be civil to the outside world but are both working extremely hard to cut the cord with each other. The sooner the better I say.

The last item I read that was interesting was the not-so-latest post on a really good blog on cheating called The Cheater's Guide To Baseball. I checked it out to see what was said about the Peavy game, but stayed to read the post below it which I found kind of crazy incredible that this kind of thing isn't talked about more if it's indeed true. I wonder if there's trace amounts of juice in my powerade.
