Ding! Dong! The Kent is Gone!

So glad I read the L.A. Times this morning.  Jeff Kent says he probably won't be back next season. It's weird because I was just explaining the relationship between Kent and the dodgers on Sunday to the only other person in the room that Jeff Kent has kind of always wanted 'his own team' where everybody plays by his rules because of his days on the giants with Barry Bonds.  I think that's a pretty true statement.  I'm glad the dodgers can finally man that position with somebody that moves instead of someone that looks like a Madame Tussauds' (had to look that one up) re-creation of a 70's porn star dressed up in a baseball uniform--or a wax figure of the lost member of the Village People.  I'm going to stop clowning on Kent now, but I've been hoping for more infield defense for a whiles now.  Acquiring Blake while Nomar is manning short isn't exactly warming my heart but I kept my mouth zipped about it because with Nomar they were only doing what they could.  Which leads me to last night's loss.  Ground ball pitchers + bad infield defense= farcical innings like the one Kuroda experienced.  Granted, what started the whole series of unfortunate events was probably a mental misstep by Kuroda or Martin, but all you have to do is Tivo a dodgers start by Derek Lowe or look at his stats to see for yourself what I'm talking about.  Thankfully the diamondbacks lost as well so the blue remain one game back.  I now feel a strange compulsion to question why a muskrat guards its musk.  The answer is the same thing that would have kept Brett Favre's mouth shut after he retired and hopefully keeps Kent's closed after his tearful farewell news conference.  Courage...
