I Heard A Rumor

If you've found it all the way to this small, dark corner of the internet I'm sure you've read about some of the rumors going around involving A-Rod. Of course, the New York City newspapers have tons of ideas on how to get rid of him. One of them is to trade him to the blue.

Not gonna happen. Here's why: Scott Boras. It's fun to imagine, though. I'm sure A-Rod and Jeff Kent would be the best of buddies. Another reason is money. He is still owed 81 million dollars for the next 3 years. He is going to want even more in any negotiated extension. Why? Scott Boras. Another reason is his opt-out clause. Will he give up that clause in an extension? I doubt it. Will he use it? Of course he will. Why? Yep, Scott Boras. So it really makes no sense to trade multiple top shelf prospects for a guy that will just void his contract and hit free agency after the season to get even more money than whatever he got when he renegotiated it for a trade. This is Los Angeles. We don't need another self-adoring celebrity. He sure can hit though. Dream on, Yankees sportswriters.
