Already having lost Tsao, Brazoban, and Schmidt (who is coming back tomorrow)
the Dodgers might have lost their dominating closer, Takashi Saito.
Saito, who complained of a tight hamstring while warming up in the bullpen, will be reexamined today but could sit out a couple of games. Little hinted Jonathan Broxton will probably finish games in his absence.I was certainly unhappy that Saito looked like an injured pitcher yesterday morning, but I was super happy that Saito was taken out promptly. Saito is certainly a very important cog in the 'lil slappy blue machine that could. I have a lot more confidence in this year's sports training staff than the guys that were letting Gagne compensate for his knee injury resulting in him blowing out his arm a second time and a lot of other bad stuff.
So here's to hoping Sammy isn't hurt too badly. I'm comfortable with Broxton closing, but we need Saito back a.s.a.p.
