The dodgers and Padres have a problem in common. They both have two major league ready third baseman so one guy is stuck in triple a with nowhere to play. The padres have been playing Headley in left field. Dodgers tried that last season and abandoned the outfield experiment with LaRoche. Loney has been in a slump and there really isn't anyone adequate to fill in for him so if LaRoche could handle first to give rest days to Loney or against tough lefties (he hasn't shown he can't hit them yet with a career .352 obp against lefites). Why not just keep LaRoche a third baseman and shift DeWitt? Neither would have less range than Jeff Kent defensively...The padres on the other hand must be waiting for Headley to become comfortable with the outfield, because there are definitely no outfielders at the mlb level for the padres that are holding him back from being on the big club... Anyways, that's my frustration with the dodgers besides the fact they are losing games they should win by not hitting with runners in scoring position all of a sudden. I know it's just baseball and this stuff just kind of happens and it will eventually turn around unless one or more players decide to make this slumpage personal and we get to read stupid stories about players fighting amongst each other over trash cans...please, baseball gods, please don't let that happen again this year.
