LaRoche needs to see the light of day part 2

I really thought it hadn't been this long since I posted.  The dodgers have been inconsistent.  Kent keeps playing more than he should even though he should be on the DL.  Hu isn't doing so well in sporadic playing time.  Furby is now a question mark in terms of when he'll come off the DL.  Loney is in a pretty bad slump.  Kemp looked really bad flailing away at sliders last night.  The dodgers have been losing games they shouldn't have mainly because of not cashing in on their numerous opportunities.  I'm getting tired of seeing Russell Martin lead off the inning with a double and watch him stay there or only move to third as the formerly picky dodgers swing away at bad pitches or try too hard for a homer.  To the cubs' credit, Fukudome made numerous great catches out there in right field.  Makes you think that maybe the dodgers didn't make the best choice in adding a center fielder, which no doubt Fukudome could play in any park in the U.S.

Luckily, despite all the bad play the dodgers are still not too far from first place.  The padres are ailing.  The giants never had a chance, but the dodgers need to be playing up to their capabilities and regain their plate discipline because the rockies, padres, or diamondbacks could start playing well again any day now and put more distance between the dodgers and first place.

The dodgers need to shake things up before complacency kicks in.  LaRoche seems like the most deserving, hungry guy that could stoke the competitive fires in his teammates.  Putting him at third would be my leaning, shifting DeWitt to second.  Put Kent on the DL where he's showing he belongs.  Beyond that, if Kershaw's performance stays up and doesn't go up and down a la Billingsley's first season, make a blockbuster trade with another contender involving no-luck Lowe before he becomes a free agent and skips off to Detroit.  The injuries to the dodgers and the rest of the league show you can't take anything for granted in baseball.  An organization has to know when the amount of injuries to a club drag down the club to the point where the guys that are healthy just start playing badly out of apathy.

Shake things up out there!
