Since Dodger pitchers seem to keep dropping like flies the blue needed a fresh arm and they called up one of the Vegas AAA+ pitchers Eric Hull. I saw the '06 version of Hull in Vegas quite a few times and it wasn't pretty. Usually meant giving up whatever lead the 51's had. Disclamier: I'm no scout. I think his fastball was 88-92 range but I could be confusing him with Stults there (Stults could pitch though and hit his spots well so he did well). Haven't seen him pitch in person at all this year. Haven't been to any games this season.
I've been wrong a lot so far but I'm going to predict that this lasts less than 2 weeks. Hull is probably going to get shelled. He's probably only there for extreme garbage time innings. I'm kind of 'eh' at this move as it's not much of a big deal who the Dodgers choose to be their 12'th pitcher, but they certainly didn't make a move that has any upside to it. Just looking at his stats tells enough of what to expect. A guy that is kind of old for his league and has to repeat each league before his stats look decent.
All that negativity aside (sorry, Hull) this is baseball I'm writing about so anything can happen and he could be really hot or something clicks or some teammate on the big club gives him some tip that really works for him and we've got a mini-phenomenon on our hands. Guess we'll see soon enough.
