Quite a back and forth game for the blue yesterday. It is difficult for my wife to watch a Wolf start. She is not a fan. To quote her, "He's frustrating to watch because he gets himself into situations where he walks people blah, blah, blah and the inning takes forever". I kinda understand what she means. It may not be pretty but it usually has worked so far this year. Don't think he can keep up his strikeout rate (only 3 last night) and without the strikeouts he's going to give up more runs (like he did last night).
But Wolf's work wasn't the most interesting part of last night's story. Billingsley made his best attempt to date to show management that it made a mistake in not choosing him for a rotation spot by just blowing pirates away like they shorted him in a drug deal.
Another highlight was Saito coming in early to strand a runner at 2'nd in the 8'th and finishing the 'Bucs off in the 9'th to put another notch on his belt.
So Kuo is finally named the starter for today's game. Why Grady does this song and dance of naming a new 5'th starter like it's a national security secret is beyond me. Anyways, good luck to him. Here's to hoping he has a great game. We all know he's got the talent.
